Power of Cleveland

***1 POWER OF CLEVELAND Fellowship slot remains open—apply now!

With generous support from the Cleveland Foundation, Foresight Prep @ Oberlin College is excited to offer the POWER OF CLEVELAND Fellowship. This opportunity provides full scholarship support for three Cleveland students to participate in one of Foresight Prep @ Oberlin College's summer courses, coupled with a paid internship with a local sustainability or social justice organization to help occupy the remainder of their summer.

Foresight Prep @ Oberlin College

Selected students will participate in one of Foresight Prep @ Oberlin's seven summer courses: The Power of Cities, The Arts, Food, Social Movements (offered twice), Business or Communications.

Foresight Prep @ Oberlin College is an intensive, pre-college institute building the power of high school students to address urgent social and environmental challenges, and succeed in their future education and career paths in these fields. We facilitate hands-on courses designed to empower motivated students to take action. We also facilitate a year-round network connecting alumni with real world changemakers.

Former students are now studying at prestigious colleges and universities including Oberlin, Bryn Mawr, Vassar, Wesleyan, Haverford, and implementing transformative projects in their schools and communities.

Summer Internship

Selected students will be placed in a 4-6 week paid internship ($1,600 stipend) with a Cleveland organization from Foresight Prep @ Oberlin College's robust network. Past hosts have included Environmental Health Watch, an impactful grassroots environmental justice organization, and the Democracy Collaborative, a national research institute advocating for a more equitable economy, who helped design the innovative Evergreen Cooperatives project.

Ongoing Support

Alumni become part of the Foresight Prep @ Oberlin College network, through which they receive access to ongoing support and mentorship from their peers, current college students, program faculty, and established sustainability professionals.
